While still rehearsing with BURN, Rik Fox was recruited by popular Arizona Metal act SURGICAL STEEL, (which included Lillian X vocalist Derek Kendall), performing dates with the likes of LITA FORD, and FLOTSAM & JETSAM, recording a debut album, which was shelved, upon lack of sufficient funds to finish it. Fox, did, however, get to record in the sessions with guest DOKKENdrummer Mick Brown, which produced solid rhythm tracks, produced by ICON guitarist Dan Wexler. SURGICAL STEEL, eventually broke up, and reformed several times in following years with various members.
